Kalkaska - 79

Kalkaska Route - 79 begins as a two-lane gravel-and-dirt road before narrowing to a single lane within the Grayling and Traverse City Forest Management Units. The route winds through pine and hardwood forests, offering opportunities to observe wildlife. Expect soft sand and washboard surfaces along some sections. It can be traveled in either direction and ends at Blue Lake Road. Please stay on designated trails and follow Tread Lightly principles.
