FS 8368

FS 8368 is a fun and scenic 1.4-mile bidirectional trail within the Manistee National Forest. Located just off NFS 8560 or South County Line Road, this trail is easily accessible from either direction. Starting from the south end at FS 8560, you'll start on a sandy dirt trail in the forest with tons of tree roots lining the trail surface. The trail surface switches from a smooth sandy dirt to a thick sand, to dirt and back, with tons of leaves covering the track. A few of the twisty sections can get narrow, so please use caution. Like most of Michigan's trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause unfavorable conditions on the trail, including downed trees, mud holes, and washouts. Come Prepared! Most of this trail is only wide enough for 1 vehicle with limited places to pass. This is not a difficult trail at all, but it contains a lot of fun and beauty and gives access to other great trails nearby. The north end of the trail finishes at South County Line Road trail so if you haven't checked that one out, please do so. Regardless of the conditions of this trail, it's a fantastic route to explore!
