Trail Overview

Dunes is a trail accessible to all vehicle types and sizes, ranging from large 4x4s to dirt bikes. The trail is entirely on sand and is encircled by dense forests, complemented by sandy beaches. This trail traverses Lake Superior, traversing sandy dunes with various twists, turns, and hills. The sand is composed of sugar sand, necessitating the use of a 4x4. Along the trail, there's a campsite and several beach access points. The western end of the trail is bordered by private property, so please be respectful.

Access Description

Traveling north out of Paradise on Whitefish Point Road, follow it for approximately 7 miles. Then, turn left onto Doe Lake Road. Continue for about 3.5 miles until you reach a Y-intersection. Stay right and continue until the next intersection. Keep left, and you'll find yourself on Dunes. Unfortunately, there's no signage or parking lot.
