Trail Overview

The Black Lake North Loop is a 50" ATV and motorcycle trail. The trail is mostly compacted sand and some black dirt. The trail flows through a number of clear-cut areas and selectively cut forest. The trail is tight in some sections with several large stumps on the edges. There are a few sections where the trail ran very fast and wide. Mostly flat with the exception of the whoops, which were very common on the lower section of both the Eastern and Western part of the loop. Appears to be a lightly ridden trail where you could take beginners.

Several sections were water logged. One portion of the section where you had to connect between the trail entrances puts you on a small road. This road had an entire section covered by water. Depth in the section I attempted was roughly 23" in depth. So, stick to the edge of the road or attempt an alternative path in the woods next to this section.

Great Trails overall, the SE portion is slightly rocky where the W portion is mostly black and lighter sands. The NE portion allows you to cruise along at higher speeds if you want. Enjoyed the trip with my dad and we will definitely be back, only hoping to bring my brother as well. Great trails for a beginner!

Trying out my T7 on some single track. I only did a few miles, she’s heavy. Lots of tight turns and whooped out but I expected that. The trailhead getting to this trail is all sand and hard to navigate without good off road tires.
