Trail Overview

This maintained gravel road passes through the Kisatchie National Forest of Louisiana's Caney Ranger District. Visitors to this Ranger District can enjoy a wide variety of recreation opportunities. Picnicking, camping, hiking and biking, boating, and fishing are a few of the activities available at the Kisatchie National Forest area. This route's north end starts into the forest from Colquitt Louisiana and ends at Bucktail Camp Complex TYPE: NF PH:318.927.2061/318.471.7160. Across the street from Bucktail is the STATE OF LA DEPT. OF CORRECTIONS. Visitors to Middle Fork's Bucktail Camp should expect very primitive camping. Both camps are designated hunter's camps which means they are only maintained during hunting season. They are, however, open year-round and can be used by all visitors. Pit toilets and a water source is available.
