Trail Overview

This Trail starts off with an easy gravel road switching quickly to a small off-camber climb. There's a steep rock climb, and there's a direct and easier but narrower way. There are many mud pits, most with a bypass. Near the end the trail cuts back steeply to River Road, starting a steep, off-camber descent. This trail is Gorgeous, and a welcome change from portions of the KAT on the Main 2 that could be completed in a Prius. This Trail follows the top of a Sandstone Outcropped Ridge, dropping into a Hemlock Forest. There is even a small waterfall at the end, with several campgrounds following this portion of the trail.

Difficulty

Air down for this trail. Steep Rock climbs, deep rutted mud holes. Full bash plates are a plus.

Went north to south. Super fun trail in totally stock 100 series. Plenty of bypasses if you want, some are TIGHT though. Unfortunately there is currently a tree down about halfway through, still attached to the ground so we couldn’t move it.

Heavily rutted and muddy. Gonna want a high clearance rig to get through.

Entered from the north at the rock climb. My Jeep on 37s pulling the trailer and a Tacoma on 35s. Went right after everything but the one mud hole that concerned me, got me. Trailer hitch grounded as it followed me in. Had to winch out backwards. Awesome trail. Only improvement would be if people didn't litter.

We went north to south. Gravel to start until the fun begins. Come to a rock climb. There is a bypass on the right. Spotter is recommended here but if experienced you’ll be fine. Good number of mud holes with a lot of bypasses. Waterfall towards the end going this way. We walked to the waterfall but a side by side will get there fine, a Jeep can get there but more difficult.

I ran the trail from south to north in my 2013 2500 dodge 35’s no lsd or lockers. It was dry conditions for this area, appeared to be some deep mud holes but all had bypasses of you need them. The holes I went through all seemed to have a hard bottom. One rock section at the beginning going up the hill biggest obstacle approximately 12”. Then go down a bigger rock obstacle later in the trail which has about a 12-18” drop but has other options. The rest of trail is riding alone the ridge great to see when the trees are bare. Also to note there’s a 15-20’ waterfall at the beginning of the trail on the left.
