Trail Overview

This trail runs along Betty Bowman Creek from east to west. It offers multiple creek crossings and ledges to traverse along the way. You will also encounter multiple waterfalls during the wet seasons. The operator will also experience rutted and off-camber spots. This trail leads you past a couple of abandoned homesteads that will make you feel as if you have traveled back into time. At the end of this trail, the landowner has been known to leave equipment sitting in the path, so proceed with caution.

Difficulty

Must have high clearance vehicle due to deep ruts. This trail has a couple of 2 to 3-foot ledges, which also adds to the difficulty. Winching was required for those with smaller tire sizes.

History

This trail is an unmaintained county road that will lead you past a couple of abandoned homesteads.

Logging companies have ruined the once beautiful Betty Bowmman. Here for the Back the Byway event.

One of my favorite trails on the DBBB! Conditions were perfect, not too wet. Mud holes are solid bottom but the rutted out sections are challenging when too wet.
