Trail Overview
233 is a wonderful ride beneath the canopy of the forest twisting and turning through the streams and rocks. The locals call this trail Bad Creek but it is nothing of the sort. This is such a beautiful trail. It can be run in both directions making a loop. Access to Trail 233 is going to be via Trail 232 and they will be run as a pair. You will encounter steep descents and rocky climbs that could be treacherous, to say the least. Definitely plan on bringing a lunch and stopping at one of several natural waterfalls nestled in the surrounding landscape. There are several opportunities to climb these naturally occurring falls as well. You will want to have traction aids and a winch. Leatherwood Off Road Park rates this as a black diamond and for good reason. Be cautious visiting this trail during heavy rainfall because of the many creek crossings and steep muddy climbs back out of the valley. Take plenty of pictures and spend time taking in the beautiful scenery along this track. I would recommend riding with a group. There is little to no cell service along this portion of the loop so GMRS radio is a great way to keep in touch with your group. This loop along with trail 232 will in total take you anywhere from 4 to 5 hours depending on how much time you stop for photos and playing on the many obstacles along the path. Take your time and you should be able to complete this track with little worries.
Difficulty
There are several steep rocky climbs/descents and several deep mud holes to navigate through. Several slick waterfall areas to climb/descend as well. The trail is tight in the trees in several places. The rocks in the creeks will be changing daily so be mindful of your differentials and other low-hanging items on your vehicle. Trees could be downed in places, so a chainsaw would be handy to have just in case.
