Trail Overview

This trail includes a moderately steep hill climb that adds a bit of challenge, but it should still be manageable for most four-wheel-drive vehicles with decent clearance. The majority of the route is straightforward, but one end features a more pronounced rise where the terrain crests sharply. This section may pose an issue for longer wheelbase or low-clearance vehicles, as it has the potential to high-center if approached without care.

Difficulty

This trail offers a moderate challenge due to its steeper hill climb and potential high-centering hazard for longer or low-clearance vehicles. While most four-wheel-drive rigs can handle it, careful line choice and momentum are important on the final incline. There are no major obstacles beyond the incline, but the elevation change adds enough difficulty to raise it slightly above an easy rating. Suitable for experienced beginners or intermediate drivers.

History

This park was formerly known as Sandy Bottoms, and longtime visitors may still refer to it by that name. The access road and staging area have evolved over time, but it remains a well-known local spot for off-road events and community rides.
