Trail Overview

Combs Road used to be a high-clearance vehicle trail in the Hoosier National Forest. Many years ago, the National Forest Service closed down this trail due to poor stewardship by the community and washouts/damage. This short northern section remains open to all and is a well-maintained gravel track with several creek crossings and several hiking destinations, including Browning Mountain, Nebo Ridge, and the Old Covered Bridge.

History

This is the northern section of Combs Road, which was closed by the National Forest Service many years ago. It is still allowed for mountain biking/hiking but is not cleared for use by 4x4s any longer.
