Trail Overview
Trappers Cabin #3561A is an intermediate 0.9-mile-long dirt bike-only single track that begins on the south end by dropping off the Snowdrift ATV trail into a scenic forested hillside. The trail immediately enters a steep descent with side-hilling and a tight tree gap that requires some route finding, especially where a major reroute appears to have redirected the trail through the private property section. The route continues along a narrow bench above a ravine, with grassy sections mixed in, and evidence of regular use indicated by cut logs and visible tracks. There is more side-hilling through much of the lower section, but the grade mellows out before the trail widens out and flattens near the north end as it approaches the Trappers Cabin.
Difficulty
This is an intermediate trail due to the initial steep descent, narrow side-hilling, and route finding challenges on the south end. Although narrow, the trail itself is mostly smooth, without any major rock obstacles or ledges.
History
The Trappers Cabin was built in 1936, originally used for predator control by Wildlife Services as part of a US trapping program.
