Trail Overview

The Peach-Cinnabar trail is a classic Idaho trail with significant challenges while climbing to Custer Lookout. When traveling from East to West, the trail has multiple sections of steep climbs with loose dirt and rocks. The penultimate climb is very steep and loose, with root obstacles as you climb. The final climb to Custer Lookout starts with a steep, rocky, technical section with areas of significant exposure. The last part of the trail is very narrow, with a rock obstacle and steep exposure. Traveling West to East takes you up the Razors Edge portion of the trail. This is riding the high ridge of the mountain with exposure on both sides. There are sections of steep, rocky climbs to get to the Lookout. Peach-Cinnabar is one of the most epic trails in Idaho. It is a seasonal trail, open from July 1 to September 30.
