Trail Overview
Nickerson Grove is an easy ATV trail that starts at the Long Ridge Motorized Trailhead, which is accessed through private land--riders should stay on the road and respect property boundaries. The two-track trail begins at the end of the road, at a small area that can be used for parking a couple of vehicles. The route is a smooth, gradual trail with a few small roots, rocks, and a shallow water crossing, but nothing technical. The trail remains wide, flowy, and mellow the entire way, with gentle curves and good visibility, making it a great beginner-friendly option. It goes past the private property again on the north end, with views through the valley towards the Teton Mountains. It's most likely used by dirt bikers as a way to access the single-track zones deeper in the trail system, as it doesn't connect to any other ATV trails. It provides access to the Twin Creek single track and continues north to the Nickerson Grove Motorized Trailhead, which consists of a few small pull-offs in the forest below Horseshoe Packsaddle Road.
Difficulty
This is an easy trail with minimal technical features, well-suited as a warm-up or access route. It's best used for connecting to other dirt bike trails, rather than for challenging ATV riding.
