Trail Overview

This trail is hard. Honestly surprised that the Forest Service considers this a motorcycle trail. It's more of a hiking trail that hasn't been used in years. The trail has severe overgrowth and many fallen trees. It begins at the Lucky Swede mine and climbs steadily uphill. There are plenty of tight sections which require the rider to dodge tree branches. Several loose and steep hill climbs with slippery roots are mixed in for good measure. The track ends at a shallow creek crossing where the hill climbs on the opposite side have eroded to the point of being un-rideable. Trailwork is the only thing that can bring this one back from the dead.

Difficulty

This trail has off-camber trail with loose, steep, rooted hill climbs and plant overgrowth. Without someone cleaning this up, it's only a few years away from extinction.

Great but hard trail! We rode this up from Moon Pass. This trail is very difficult and not for novice riders and Intermediate riders could suffer tremendously. The ride is best done with strong buddies (old fat guys will do in a pinch.) It appears this trail has had its route altered based on recent cuts and survey markers. Some of the newest sections up higher on the black have not been rode much. We figure the rating should be 8/10 and some small sections at 9/10 in difficulty. The climbs are steep, and the soil is loose. You will use your clutch. Up higher the trail mellows out. Look for the Yeti up higher. If you see the Yeti, life gets easier.
