Trail Overview
Elk Creek is a scenic singletrack trail through the Sawtooth National Forest with mild exposure, a decent wash-out in one section, and generally manageable terrain. The trail currently has a significant amount of downed timber, requiring frequent navigation over fallen trees. Approximately three-quarters of the way through the trail, a large tree completely blocked the original route. A bypass has been created around the obstruction to allow riders to continue through. Riders should use caution when approaching the area and expect additional fallen trees along the route. Overall, the trail is a fun ride with moderate difficulty, but current trail conditions make it more challenging than the terrain alone would suggest. If the trail is clear, you can expect to complete it in 30 minutes to 1 hr.
