Trail Overview

This is a short trail that can be combined with the War Eagle Lookout Trail. The trail is gravel/dirt and leads you up to a mountain full of Crystals called Crystal Mountain. After you have spent the day hunting crystals head back down the mountain and stop at the Secesh Stop for some great food or even rent a cabin overnight.

Difficulty

This is an easy trail in the summer months that can be driven by most cars with a little clearance. During the winter months, you will need 4WD.

Crystal mountain, 6900 ft asl. Entirely formed of quartz. Easy ride up and back. Maybe 4 miles round trip from the turnoff.

didn't think to get photos unfortunately, I was too focused on driving. road definitely didn't seem like a 1/10 to me that's just your basic gravel road. this was more in line with a 3-4/10,( maybe more in certain spots near the peak.) deep ruts in some places, lots of loose rock(and sharp quartz) on moderately steep inclines especially the closer you get to the top.. that being said I'm not the most experienced off roader. ymmv.
