Trail Overview

This 6.3‑mile through‑trail winds through timberland, hunting areas, and to hunting camps bordering the Hannahatchee Creek WMA. Packed red clay and sandy silt create ever‑changing terrain, easily rutted after rain. Scenic vistas near the Georgia foothills offer stunning views, while use, seasonal, and weather conditions keep the ride challenging and dynamic.

It was a nice 4x4 experience with our new Bronco. 2 trucks and several 4 wheelers. Very muddy in places. Average speed between 10-15 mph. When there is logging or other agricultural activity going on this road will suck. Barely enough room at points for 1 vehicle on the road much less 2. After getting on at HWY 27, the road meanders a bit with private land on both sides. When you come to the blacktop you’ll turn right and you’ll be back on 27 in a couple of miles. We were in 4H the whole time. I would not attempt after a rain. Not many safe places to turn around. Overall a good experience.

Very easy to drive, suggest 4x4 and good tires if you decide to do this in the rain. Road becomes very slick and 1-2ft deep washouts in the shoulders that you wouldn’t want to slide into.
