Trail Overview

Scenic Juliette stands true to its name, passing through highland forests of southern pines before slowly descending down to hardwood forest with revealing views of the Ocmulgee River. This fun drive is best started from the North in Ocmulgee National Forest before entering Piedmont National Wildlife Refuge. The road is mostly gravel with areas of sand and red Georgia dirt that can turn soft after a light rain. Juliette is in good shape with very few potholes.

Open with one limb across road. Limb is up pretty high we went under in a Jeep.

Started the trail from the south. No issues for most of it. There was a muddy patch but I was able to get through with relative ease. A tree was down but I didn’t have my chainsaw so I had to turn around.

Mainly dusty, rough dirt roads with some mud on the sides no real issues. combined this with Oconee Star adn Pedmont National wildlife refuge several shallow water crossings so that was fun finished up on Lane Cemetery Trail. Juliette, Ga is where the move "Fried Green Tomatoes" was filmed the restaurant in the movie is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday so we missed out on lunch there.

This was a great drive. It offered a number of spur roads that let me engage the 4-wheel drive. Fun trip!
