Trail Overview

Tatum Lead Road begins in the Northern end of the Chattahoochee National Forest. The access road is given right of way through private property. It starts out on Georgia's scenic byway on Highway 52. There is an abundance of signs on the private property with no trespassing and no parking signs. The trail leads to the Rock Creek OHV trail. Rock Creek OHV trails are closed from January 1st to March 31st. There is a beautiful canopy during the spring and summer months that provides shade and lower temperatures. The trail is suitable for high clearance 2WD vehicles, but must have good tires due to the trail having some slick rock during rain and storms. The towering trees do pose a threat during high winds so be sure to bring a chainsaw. The trails are VERY tight and pinstripes are a guarantee. At the very end there is a dead end with a turn around which will give ample amount of room to turn around if towing a trailer, but there is no room for trailer parking on the trail. There is also only a few spots to pass oncoming traffic, so be sure to remember each spot when you pass it, or you may be driving in reverse for quite some time.

Very fun and easy trail. It was a little muddy but that was because it rained the night before. I didn’t need 4wd for this trail. The trail does have small trees that are in the way but most of them have been cleared by the local fire department

Great trail, just a heads up that this trail does not go all the way through anymore and is closed at the end right before you get out! Make sure you have enough fuel to turn around and venture back out!

Lots of down trees but have been cut and trail is clear. There a few hanging low trees that are sketchy to get by. Trail is tight and there is not much room to pass any other traffic. Towards the end there is a lot of over growth into the trail. So expect some pin striping.

The trail was a little muddy in some areas and the leaves covered some of the rocks. Great ride.

Almost got completely to the other side of trail and got stopped by this MASSIVE oak. You can tell they've had to clean the trail up a lot. Thankfully it was at a spot we could easily turn around at (which cannot be said for the majority of the trail).

This trail is very narrow and you can expect scratches. There are limited places to turn around so when you've entered the trail, you're in for the ride. Fun trail for sure
