Trail Overview

Stumpers Grade Trail is a gravel trail starting at the south entrance of J.W. Corbett Wildlife Management Area and ending at the Indian Trail. This trail has several designated hunting trails and campsites, including hunting trails 7, 9, 10, and 11, as well as Campsite P. A section of the Florida Trail, this trail is one of the four main sections that act as the main trail in the wildlife management area. Stumpers Grade provides a 6-mile-long stretch of beautiful scenery and wildlife, being one of the few areas left in South Florida to give you that "Old Florida Feel." It's a smooth, wide, well-maintained dirt road with few obstacles to avoid. A small entrance fee applies for access to this road.

Plenty of trails around the main road. I was told that it’s only accessible to hunters. Didn’t go since I was solo but pretty fun nonetheless.

You have to stay to the main trail if you divert since it’s still the wet season, everything is flooded.

South Grade was washboard to varying degrees. It was relatively busy today. Encountered everything from swamp buggies, side by sides, trucks and a Even a Class C camper. He was having a bit of a rough drive in there.

Lots of lizards and either a wild boar or panther ran across the road. Some off road trails that were sandy and easy maybe a trail rating of 3 for the trails off the gravel road.

We took the Beast and the RTR. I got stuck with the truck a local pulled me out with his 2 wheel Chevy truck. Only car I saw there today. We had a blast. Kevin saved the day. Saw a Florida Panther. Place is awesome
