Trail Overview

This trail is located within the Babcock-Webb Wildlife Management Area. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission requires $3 per person or $6 per vehicle for a daily use fee. Some exceptions may apply to those who hold a current WMA Permit from FWC. Check with FWC and download the specific WMA regulations posted on their website. Once onsite, you are required to check in at the "Check Station", which is an iron post next to the information board located on the north side of Zemel Road. See the picture of the check station. Remember to tread lightly and to remain on only named or numbered roads/trails. The trailhead for this trail is located off Seminole Grade. This trail can be challenging year-round. The trail leads through numerous wetland and upland areas. There are some tight trails with deep water and spots of very sticky mud. During periods open to hunting, be respectful and avoid this trail. During non-hunting season, there is a good chance of observing some wildlife (e.g. whitetail deer, wild hogs, coyotes, bobcats, bald eagles, etc.) or cattle along this trail. Getting to the trailhead via Seminole Grade can be accomplished in a regular street-legal 2WD vehicle. However, you will need a high-clearance 4WD to navigate the trail.

Some dips in the trail with over 30 inches of water, snorkel suggested, could get away with taking bypass and left side of trail. More water than anticipated for our group.

About 8” standing water with little to no mud. Mostly sand. Travel slow to avoid digging a rut.
