Trail Overview

Road 7 is a scenic interior trail through Dinner Island Ranch Wildlife Management Area that offers a relaxing drive across native Florida prairie, pine flatwoods, and seasonal wetlands. The trail is well suited for beginners looking to experience the beauty of one of South Florida's most unique public lands while still enjoying a true off-pavement adventure. Depending on recent rainfall, sections of Road 7 may contain standing water, mud holes, and soft sandy stretches. During the dry season, the trail is generally easy to navigate with high-clearance 2WD vehicles, although 4WD is recommended year-round due to rapidly changing conditions. Wildlife sightings are common and may include white-tailed deer, wild turkey, alligators, sandhill cranes, and numerous bird species. Take your time and enjoy the scenery—this area is more about exploring nature than technical driving.
