Trail Overview
A wide, sandy forest trail winding through dense Florida pine and palmetto scrub. Long straightaways provide excellent visibility and make it easy to spot obstacles or other vehicles well in advance without risk. The trail is mostly flat and smooth, with a single section of deeper rutted sand near the midpoint that may require some momentum or 4WD. Multiple intersecting trails provide convenient alternate routes and exit points throughout the drive, allowing you to explore the beauty and trails Ocala has to offer. There are no significant obstacles, water crossings, steep climbs, or technical features, making this an excellent beginner trail and a quick route between other areas of the trail system.
Difficulty
Very easy trail suitable for beginners and stock vehicles. The route is wide, mostly straight, and offers excellent visibility. The only notable obstacle is a moderately deep rutted sand section near the middle of the trail. 4WD is not required in dry conditions, but drivers unfamiliar with sand should maintain momentum through deeper sections. If there has been recent rain, 4WD is highly recommended, if not required.
