FS 312D

Forest Road 312D connects Powerline (312F) at the south end and the Ranger trail at the north end. It takes you through the northeast part of the Apalachicola National Forest along the Cow Swamp and gives you access to Lost Creek, including a creek crossing. It is definitely one of the more technically challenging trails in the area. It's a partially very narrow trail with a water crossing that can be up to 4ft deep and 200 ft long. The road is not always wide enough for two vehicles to pass. 4WD and high clearance are required. All vehicles must be street legal. Please be aware that the cellphone reception is weak. The Apalachicola National Forest is located in the east part of Florida's panhandle. It's home to some of the most unique animal and plant species in the world.
