Trail Overview

Amelia Island State Park offers roughly two miles of scenic beach driving, along one of Northeast Florida’s last undeveloped shorelines. The route takes you both along the beach and through marked paths in the dunes. Sand is firm at low tide but soft near the dunes. The tide can rise quickly; be sure to stay aware of water levels. Nature is abundant, with sea turtle nests, numerous seabird species, tortoises on the beach, and frequent dolphin sightings. Fishing and relaxing on the beach are popular activities. This is a 4WD required beach. Parking is limited to 300 people at a time (600 daily). Open 8 a.m. to sundown year-round. Entry is $2 per person, payable with exact change via honor box or by QR code for online payment.
