Trail Overview

Center Trail is the longest trail in the Northwest Rhode Island Trail Network. It runs from Pulaski State Park on its West end (photos 1-3) to Olney Keach Road on its East end (photo 7). The gate on its West end in Pulaski State Park is closed during the winter, but you can still use the rest of the trail. Several other trails go off of it. Carl Erickson Covered Bridge on Inner Border Trail off of Notre Dame Trail is just 300 yards from this trail. Photo 4 shows where it meets the George Washington State Park Trail. Photo 5 shows where it meets Ross Trail. Photo 6 shows a shallow water area 0.2 miles from its East end.

Easy trail for my 3rd gen tundra w/lift 35s, but there was a stock form Forester out there that did the same trails. Just about any 4wd will be fine on the center trail, Olney keach and the outer trails get more difficult

Coming from CT I was so thankful to find the handful of open trails in Pulaski State Park and Recreational Area. The Center trail was a mostly easy 1-2 difficulty but there were a couple puddles and rocks in the trail that would be a little challenge for stock lower clearance rigs. But then there’s a couple off-shoots/ side trails that got pretty rocky. There were also a few areas I did not explore that seem like play areas and many other trails not charted on this app. Overall very doable and I’ll definitely go back to explore more. There also a lake or 2 in the area.

Pretty easy and chill trail. I was the only one out there on July 4th except for one group of hikers that I passed by. There was a deep muddy puddle and the water got up to my doors. Besides that it was all dry

It rained the past couple days and there was one deep water crossing (pictured) at the north end of the trail near the intersection of Olney Keach road. Water was over a foot deep with hidden obstacles. I made it through with a stock 4Runner but wouldn’t want to do it regularly. Otherwise a very straightforward trail with small obstacles and some loose gravel.

mostly very easy but be careful if you don’t have high clearance. some parts are a bit rocky and you’ll have to deal with a couple mud pits. completed no problem in a stock toyota lc250. NOTE: gate at the far west end was shut, found another route in, a little to the east at richardson clearing trail. upper east end of trail had no gates. found another trail accessible by 4x4 called ross trail. fun but beware of mud pits.

Generally good condition, some muddy patches and a few spots still had ice. Came across one washout heading towards Olney Keach Road but it wasn’t hard to get around it. No issues with stock Tacoma.
