Trail Overview

Head down Onley Keach Road and begin once the pavement turns to dirt just after the houses. This trail is a dirt and gravel road. It will loosen your filings and shed parts from your vehicle. The trail's main redeeming value is that it forms the Eastern border of the Northeast Rhode Island Trail Network and several of those trails terminate on it.

Difficulty

Although there are no large obstacles, the dirt and gravel are rough, so drive slowly and with caution.

First ever trail, entered through 1 Olney Keane Rd., exited onto Jackson Schoolhouse Rd. Would not advise someone inexperienced on this trail as this was my first as well. Stock 2025 Toyota 4Runner SR5 did marvelous, starts off pretty calm, then starts to get pretty rocky and choppy. Overall maybe two or three spots that were tricky for me but it was a great first time trailing. Having two of my buddies riding along and spotting helped a lot.

You do need good ground clearance. I thought I wasn't going to make it in my stock 4Runner, but I did. I ran into some guys in dirt bikes, and at the very end someone else in a pickup truck. I does get rough. No 4Low needed in my case. No scraping. No airing down tires. YOU DO HAVE TO CAREFUL if your riding factory height. It doesn't take an entire hour.

Turned left off of Center Trail and it seemed easy until just beyond the pond, trail became very rough, many rocks and roots, had to use 4 low and took it slow.
