Trail Overview

This is a great single-track trail in the Gunnison National Forest between Aspen and Crested Butte, Colorado. It's 1.3 miles and only loses about 200 feet from the north end to the south end. It starts off of Taylor River Head Road, then side hills on a beautiful mountainside down to a drainage to meet up with the Mount Tilton single-track trail. There are some extremely rocky sections with big giant boulders embedded in the trail, and some sections are off-camber. The boulders make this a more advanced trail, but there are some "cheater" lines to pick to get around the boulders. The trail has a couple of small creek crossings that are shallow and not challenging. The views are incredible of the surrounding high alpine mountains, and the south end drops out at a mine.
