Runlett ATV

The Runlett ATV trail starts on Middle Mountain Road and heads south for 3 miles until it dead ends at the Dark Canyon Single Track. The north end starts as a wide path on the edge of a hillside with wide open views. The trail starts off easy, with ruts and embedded rocks. There are lots of downed logs that have only been partially cut and are still sticking out over the trail that you need to watch out for around the corners, and some downfall elevated above the trail at the head height you have to duck for. Most of the beginning is really easy except for the logs. In the southern half of the trail, it gets steeper and rockier. It's really cool as it rides along a narrow ridgeline overlooking the mountains and valleys. It has more embedded rocks and ruts, and it's troughed in the center of the trail. After descending 1,200 feet over 3 miles, with the steepest spot at the south end, it dead ends at the singletrack, so ATVs will have to ride this as an out and back. Look for elk and deer during your ride.
