Trail Overview

This great little trail offers much to explore. This trail branches off of Mt Herman Road and follows along the top of a ridge heading east. The majority of the trail is surrounded by a dense population of pine trees, however, this opens up in a couple of areas and reveals the beautiful surrounding valleys and Colorado Springs in the distance. Long, steep sections retain ice and snow in the winter and cause difficulty with limited traction. Numerous campsites and areas to explore make this route a great afternoon or weekend getaway. For a full day of trail adventure, pair this with some of the other nearby trails in the Mt. Herman area.

Approximately 1/2mi past the fork with 319 the road has deep snow and ruts on a banked turn. There was a built jeep winching itself out of the deep snow drift. Spring conditions are upon us so travel prepared for all conditions. We did travel down 319 and it was clear other than a few small snow patches.
