Trail Overview

You can go up Peak 9 through the ski area and traverse over to Peak 10. It's a great little adventure with some of the best scenery in the area. This trail is not open to unlicensed vehicles and is closed in the wintertime.

Difficulty

Moderate. Lower part through ski area is easy. At the top, trail narrows with tight switchbacks. Although the last mile has no real obstacles, it is very intimidating. Experienced drivers in aggressive stock SUVs can do it. Lowrange gearing required at the top.

History

Breckenridge Ski Area opened in December of 1961 with one double-chair lift and a T-bar. An adult lift ticket cost $4. Today Breckenridge has over 30 lifts and a daily undiscounted lift ticket costs more than $140. Breckenridge has about 3 million visitors a year, and half of that number is in the summer. Plan some time to walk around the town and down Main Street.
