Trail Overview
Miners Creek Road is a convenient off-road trail right on the outskirts of Frisco, Colorado, making it an easy and rewarding exploration while visiting the area. The route begins as a paved multi-use path in town and gradually transitions into a rugged backcountry road as it climbs into the White River National Forest. Along the way, travelers will traverse water crossings, thick conifer forest, and several slick or muddy sections, adding a sense of adventure. A highlight of the trail is an abandoned cabin that can be explored, offering a glimpse into the area’s rich gold mining history. In the lower section, the road closely parallels Miners Creek for nearly half of the trail’s length, providing scenic views and the sound of running water. The roadbed is mostly composed of smaller rocks and dirt and can typically be driven in a stock high-clearance 4x4 vehicle or truck. Only licensed road vehicles are permitted, and primitive camping is available in the upper half of the trail.
