Trail Overview

While most of Gunbarrel Road is easy and hard-packed dirt, there is one section with deep ruts on the west end that may require high clearance. The northeast end of this trail is well maintained. Gunbarrel Road provides access to areas with ample camping, though camping isn't allowed along this route. There are beautiful views of the surrounding mountains along the way. Full cell service is available, and there are two vault toilets in the area.

Difficulty

Easy, dirt trail that is generally well maintained with a mostly smooth dirt surface, but drivers may encounter occasional rocky sections, shallow ruts, or muddy areas after rain. There is a small rutted section on the west end of the trail.
