Great time, easily done in a 20ft full size truck. Some of the UTVs going through required one or the other to backup, but enjoyable ride. Not much a view at the top.

Few people. Dry roads. No hard obstacles a stock 4x4 couldn’t drive.

Road has deteriorated compared to 5-7 years ago. Many of the culverts are either exposed or washed out. Full size truck compatible for now with pin stripes. Jeeps will make it without scratches. Hardest part of trail occurs after crossing a downed log that is partially buried and cross the length of the trail. Primary obstacles are off camber berms with potential high centering caused by high speed side by side use. This trail exists because it was a service access for a buried AT&T phone line that crossed the Mtn from Perry Park (DougCo) to Woodland Park (TellerCo)

Once you leave Fern heading East and continue onto Grove, the tracks change considerably. Very little is packed and we slipped around a lot. About 1-2miles down Grove we went head on into a snow drift area and got buried in pretty good. Took us 1.5 hours to dig ourselves out. We went from “hey, I think we can still manage this trail” to “oh shoot, why didn’t we turn back earlier”. I’d say avoid Grove altogether. Not worth it.
