The trail surface consists primarily of dirt and sand, featuring numerous steep dips and climbs that require a capable high-clearance vehicle. High-clearance four-wheel-drive vehicles and SxSs will find the terrain highly manageable in dry conditions, making it an accessible adventure for moderately experienced offroaders. At the end of the trail lies Crystal Lake, a quiet alpine basin that offers a peaceful spot for dispersed camping and serves as a natural watering hole for local wildlife during the morning and evening hours.
