Trail Overview

County Highway 224 through the Wolford Open are and OHV Play area. The route varies from well to poorly maintained and has potential for a water crossing. While there are no ledges or obstacles to be concerned about (other than the potential water crossing at 40.09633, --106.37961), caution should be taken if heavy rain has been in the area, as there are spots where the road will get muddy and slippery. The water feature at 40.09633, -106.37961 may be as little as a few inches to potentially greater than a foot, judging by the water lines on the surrounding rocks and creek depth. If the water is too deep, it will be easy to turn around and go back from either side. Other than the water, this is a very nice road. Dusty, but very passable in just about anything higher than a family sedan, assuming dry conditions. The road is open to tagged vehicles, but straying off the road will require an OHV permit.
