Trail Overview

Log Jumper is a 7.2-mile-long ATV trail in Rampart Range that connects Noddle (#675) to Long Hollow (#650). From the north end, it starts out as a road-width trail, very wide, with tons of huge whoops. It steadily climbs over 2,000 feet of elevation over the 7 miles as it goes southeast, with only a few small downhills along the way. It's similar to Noddle with lots of big sweeping curves, tighter turns, banked corners, and some shelfy sections as it climbs up. Some sections are wide open, some are tighter in the trees, and some go along a spine. There is one moderate rock obstacle that is a troughed-out climb with a small rock slab ledge at the top, but there is a way around it. This makes a good day ride ATV loop with Cabin Ridge, Noddle, and Long Hollow, but be prepared for massive whoops on this trail almost the whole time.

Difficulty

The Rampart Range Recreation Area is an extensive trail system in the Pike National Forest southwest of Sedalia, Colorado. There are several trailheads, but it is most commonly accessed from the north off of North State Highway 67. This is a highly maintained and regulated trail system; make sure you have your OHV registration card and decals. There are first-come-first-serve paid campsites and several restrooms. The area closes seasonally by December 1st and reopens in the spring sometime in April or May based on weather and mud conditions. All ATV trails in the area are designated for vehicles 50 inches or less and are mostly easy to intermediate difficulty, while the single tracks are more difficult. Note that only licensed vehicles are allowed on Rampart Range Road, so there are often separate trailheads at the start and end of each trail.

Beautiful out here. Heading west from rampart road, this is an easy trail, heading in from 67 make sit intermediate because of the climb. Start from rampart and its beautiful with some of my favorite view in the park. Trail is dry, but dusty, and has a few spots of deep gravel that wants to wash out your front tire. use caution through the whoops. There is also a huge ledge towards the end (if starting from rampart range road, but fairly early if starting from 67) that is easy enough on a dirt bike, but quite the challenge on a larger ADV. There WAS a tree in the way of the bypass today, but I cleared it... your welcome y'all, have fun.
