Trail Overview
This ATV trail is short, but has some challenging rocky sections. The south end starts out climbing on some rock slabs heading up a mesa full of pinyon pine trees. It switchbacks into more slab rock layers, with some small ledges. It continues curving through the pinyon trees with small loose rocks in the trail. At the intersection with the Fred Garza Memorial Trail, this trail goes left down a very tricky rocky descent down to the northern trailhead. It's steep and full of loose rocks, with embedded rock layers making 1 foot tall ledges. It's a good challenge coming back up this section in an ATV as it will be hard to maintain momentum and traction. This little northern piece is definitely the hardest part of the trail.
Difficulty
This is an intermediate ATV trail due to a very loose, rocky and steep climb on the north end, and several 1 foot tall rock ledges throughout the trail.
