Trail Overview

An easy ride from Countryside Tour GP to Highway 9 in the lower country east of Buena Vista. The central part of the trail follows 31 Mile Creek through part of the Pike National Forest, hence the name. We did the run on June 11, 2015, and found numerous mud holes through the National Forest, one of which could not be bypassed.

We began our drive on the north side, heading south in the early morning. Rain from the night before left a few sections of the trail a bit slick, but still manageable with a standard-size 4x4 vehicle. The countryside was absolutely beautiful, and the weather couldn’t have been better—starting in the crisp 40s around 6 a.m. and warming into the 50s by 8 a.m.

Trail was in great condition. Remote riding you won’t see anyone. There are many spurs and other fun areas to explore, nothing difficult. Can go south to Teller Rd 1 and take dirt all the way to Salida.
