Trail Overview

This trail starts near the Bristlecone Visitor Center. The road passes through the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest, known for its exceptionally old bristlecone pine trees. The majority of this trail is a nicely graded dirt road. There are some sections that are rougher with lots of small rocks but no large obstacles.

Difficulty

The trail is fairly graded. There are small rocks along the road and is fairly graded until the last two miles. The second to last mile is rougher and has a few uneven sections. The last mile before the Patriarch Grove trail is paved. The NPS warns you to make sure your spare is good as there are some sharper rocks.

The entire trail is snow free, except for one section with atleast a 4-5ft deep drift blocking the entire road. Some motorcycle tracks hugged the ledge and made it through, but definitely not passable in anything else.
