Trail Overview

Valley of the Names is a really cool road, for miles, there are rocks that people have moved and created little sayings and names! It is a cool thing to see! The road is mostly gravel with some off-camber areas and loose sand in sections. This area is prone to flooding, some sections of this road either drive in a wash or through one, please be careful in the rainy season. The road runs through Bureau Land Management.

You need to turn left (SSE) at the intersection labeled “Short Wheelbase” to get to the names. The section labeled as “Valley of the Names” has no name markings on the ground. The correct trail is roughly 180 degrees from the “Valley of the Names” as marked on the OnX map. Once you get on the correct road, it is very evident and really cool! It is easily traveled by any stock pickup or vehicle with good clearance. 4x4 is not necessary.
