Welcome to Spencer Lakes off-highway vehicle trail, a rewarding but rugged little adventure tucked into the alpine trees! The journey begins beautifully but quickly drops into a steep, loose rock descent that occasionally transitions into soft, sandy spots. As you make your way further down, the established trail becomes increasingly faint and difficult to track, while the embedded rocks grow significantly larger. You will eventually encounter rock shelves reaching up to 18 inches in height. As you navigate this remote terrain, keep your eyes peeled for an unassuming area blocked off by boulders; this is actually an old, century-old route that now serves as a charming footpath. Parking here and taking a short walk down this blocked-off trail rewards you with absolutely breathtaking views of a gorgeous, crystal-clear alpine lake tucked into the vibrant green basin.

Because you will encounter steep rock shelves reaching up to 18 inches in height, you must rely heavily on precise tire placement and maximized traction. To protect your undercarriage, always approach large ledges and boulders at an angle, purposefully placing your tires directly on the highest points of the rocks rather than trying to straddle them. Maintaining a slow, highly controlled momentum is crucial on the loose, rocky descent to prevent sliding.
