As others have stated, this trail is a 2/10 if there was no steep grade. However, this is one of the most consistent steep climbs around. If you do not have low range, then I would not take the risk of attempting this trail. Otherwise, it was just like usual, and beautiful as always.

If the steep grade didn't exist this trail would be rated a 2. it does have a severe drop off but conditions were good. I give it a 3 based solely on the grade - make sure you're in 4lo and 1st. Ran top to bottom on a Sunday afternoon and saw no one. The few water crossings were a foot or less.

Steeeeep downhill at the start. Be sure to use low range. Conditions good, with 8-10 shallow stream crossings.

3 is a very fair rating. It was not very difficult, just a few short fordings. Ranged from ankle deep to calf deep. Coming back down is a doozy. When you go up, there are these dips that you will want to slowly crawl over. Coming back down, watch wheel placement - those dips are now bumps that I either bellied the skid plate on, or a couple times a diff scraped. With some tire placement and understanding how your suspension reacts, you can keep it to just rubber on rock. 4Lo coming down to keep speed in check, but I did use 4Lo going up just to be safe. Pretty steep grade with tight switch backs. Gladiators/Tacos, take those turns carefully.

Came down on my CFMoto Ibex 450 ADV moto but OnX says “4x4 only”. As stated REALLY steep on top half with numerous walking speed switchbacks, but nothing too difficult. Still a dozen or more stream crossings on bottom half, as much as a foot or so deep but again, nothing too hairy! I definitely didn’t have the leisure to look for mountain goats! Curious if it would be harder or easier going up… maybe next year!

We came down from the Bristlecone forest, beautiful views looking out at the Sierras, super steep 4lo and 1st gear for the top half. The road was in great condition seems like it may have been graded recently. Handful of creek crossings towards the bottom but not deep.

Trail is open with no snow, just a couple of water crossings but nothing deeper than a foot. Definitely steep so you’ll need to work the gears.

I used my dirt bike but On X doesn’t let me put it because it’s a 4x4 trail. Super fun fire road, nice rocky and steep parts. Towards the top was a little snowy which was hard to get through (late March). My 2019 Crf250RX, Dad’s 2019 Crf450L, little bro’s 2022 Crf125F all made it up.

Went uphill from Laws to the top. 1st half was basic with some shallow water crossings. 2nd half is a very steep climb with loose rock and needed low-4. Very thin trail with little room to pass on coming traffic. Was well worth the climb for the views to the west of the Eastern Sierra's at the top.

A few small water crossings at the beginning and one segment where water had eroded about a quarter of the width of the trail. Otherwise steep and narrow, but straightforward.

Traveled in both directions. Multiple water crossings in the first few miles. Steep and dusty but not difficult. 21' runner with lift and 33's. Most can be done in 2 wheel drive but the steep sections required 4 low.

Multiple water crossings at the beginning with a couple caves to explore along the way. Gets very narrow and steep half way to the top of the White Mountains. Amazing views looking down into the valley looking at the Sierra Nevadas.
