Trail Overview

This is a very easy trail leading from Swarthout Canyon Road to Lytle Creek Road. No major obstacles, but the uphill portions can be a little slick. Street legal vehicles only.

Came from Lytle creek side and it was open, turned off at 3N31Y and didn’t go all the way through

2N56 to 3N29 is closed due to storm damage and road washed out. Forest Order 05-12-00-25-04 in effect from July 23, 2025 to July 21, 2026. Forest Service Road Closed. Gate may be open, but road is still considered closed and if Forest Rangers see you on this road you can be ticketed and fined $5K.

Sheep Canyon wide super easy dirt road. Open gate at Lytle Canyon rd (FR3n06) and open gat at intersection of Upper Lytle Canyon Creek Divide.

Dirt road until you hit the Lytle Creek fork, then a rocky but easy 1 mile trail down to Swarthout Canyon Road.

Our first trail, real easy to navigate. Great scenery on the turnouts. Came up from Sierra Ave took the trail straight through, eventually to Cajon Road and took the 15 freeway back into town. Great for first time off-roading.

I wouldn’t take this road unless you have some clearance. Some spots to pass but there is a large uphill stretch without passing. A poor silverado had to back down half the mountain for me. Sorry man lol
