Trail Overview
This trail is an out-and-back route that begins on Red Rock InyoKern Road South. The trail surface is a hard-packed sandy path featuring both embedded and loose rocks. Users should be prepared for sections with ruts, off-camber terrain, and holes that are between 12 to 18 inches deep. The route is noted for great views of the Eastern Sierra mountains and the Red Rock Canyon State Park area. A key point of interest is an old mine that was utilized for the Old Dutch Cleanser product. Be aware that the final mile of the trail is within the Red Rock Canyon State Park, where OHV vehicles must have a green sticker displayed, along with other requirements.

History
The Old Dutch Cleanser mine, located in the El Paso Mountains near Red Rock Canyon State Park, operated from 1923 to 1947. It produced over 120,000 tons of white volcanic pumicite, used by the Cudahy Packing Company as the primary abrasive ingredient in their popular "Old Dutch Cleanser" household scouring powder.
