Trail Overview

The Old 3N49 Trail is seriously epic for anyone looking for a challenge. The scenery along the way is stunning, with sweeping views and a lot of terrain variety to keep things interesting. It hasn’t been maintained in a few years, so don’t expect a smooth ride. Sections are washed out, strewn with rock debris, and tricky to navigate. This trail is definitely not for all vehicles; even experienced dual sport riders will find some parts technical and demanding. Tight turns, off-camber spots, and unexpected drops make it a true test of skill. Water erosion and loose rocks show up in random places, so you need to stay alert. Check conditions before heading out, because certain sections might be completely impassable after heavy weather. It’s rough, raw, and rewarding—definitely a trail for those looking for adventure beyond the usual backroads.

Difficulty

Impossible to get through with four-wheel vehicles, this trail features technical enduro riding for two-wheeled vehicles. Epic trail, but it can get you stuck. Beware!

bad washout going south to north early in the trail. using a alternate route to get around the first washout there was another where the road has become the wash. I dont think there is a way around it.

Trail is very washed out. Didn't go down the whole trail because we were by ourselves. Needs some trail maintenance that we didn't have correct tools to do. It is a 2 track. Don't know why it's listed for Motorcycles only

I looked on OnX and saw 3 ways into 3n49. Swartout Canyon Rd, Lone Pine Canyon Rd and Applewhite Road. Swartout and Lone Pine was blocked off with Road Closed signs. Applewhite Road had a land slide that you cannot pass. Couldnt make it too the trail.
