Set across an open ridge environment recovering from the 2018 Ranch Fire within the Mendocino National Forest, the landscape features regrowing manzanita brush, young pines, and standing timber snags that open up expansive panoramas over surrounding mountain valleys. Recreators and campers frequently utilize this path to access a prime primitive dispersed campsite located right near the entrance or to enjoy a quiet, scenic detour off the main thoroughfare.
