Trail Overview

Lake Crowley Northwest Cutoff is a short and scenic connector trail that links Lake Crowley North Landing Shoreline Loop with Lake Crowley North Landing 1. The route starts near the lake, gradually heading away from the shoreline through open terrain. The trail winds through low-growing sagebrush that occasionally brushes against your vehicle, adding light pinstripes. Along the way, drivers are treated to views of Lake Crowley, the surrounding Eastern Sierra mountains, and the Glass Mountains. This point-to-point trail is smooth for most of the route and offers a quick, satisfying drive for those exploring the northern side of the lake. The trail is primarily sand and pumice. The surface is generally compacted and smooth, though some sections have light washboards caused by seasonal water flow.
