Trail Overview
Lake Crowley North Landing 2 is a short scenic route branching off from Lake Crowley North Landing 1. This 2.3-mile out-and-back trail travels across open high-desert terrain covered with sagebrush and volcanic pumice. The drive offers unobstructed 360-degree views of Lake Crowley, the Glass Mountains, and the towering Eastern Sierra to the west. The route gently winds toward the shoreline, ending on a raised bank overlooking the lake. It’s a great spot to enjoy sweeping views and a quiet moment near the water without venturing into rough terrain. Loose sand and pumice base with patches of gravel. Washboard sections are common throughout the route.
Difficulty
The route is straightforward but has heavy washboarding in several stretches. The track narrows to about one to one and a half vehicles wide in places, requiring caution when passing other vehicles. The final climb up the bank near the lake is slightly uneven but easily managed with a high-clearance vehicle.
