Trail Overview

Beautiful trail overlooking the neighboring town of Banning and the surrounding mountains. The deserted mountainscape is chock-full of secluded camp spots with some wind cover and appears to be used for shooting occasionally. The trail is relatively even in most spots and wide enough for two vehicles to squeeze by each other.

Exit San Gorgonio off the 10, on the way the the trail you will go through Smith Creek, pretty sandy. I didn’t air down, through it into 4x4 and went right through. I didn’t try 2wd when I was in the sand. Other than that it’san easy trail.

Basically a gravel road, well maintained. I was able to stay seated on my Ducati Desert Sled the whole way. Did come across a couple guys shooting on one of the side trails and also saw 3 deer. Beautiful views all around, but if you’re looking for a challenge, this is not it.

Super easy trail. Actually more just a dirt road. Even moved over for a Toyota Sienna minivan to pass by. Awesome views, though. Saw a few owls, too, swooping down for mice.

I went all the way through the gate, I was told it was a private property so I ended up to San Bernardino Forest lol it was pretty cool and fun off roading with dad

Nice time on the road today. Started on the Banning side and finished at the 243. Cal Trans was out today smoothing out the road. Would definitely recommend to someone wanting a smooth trail experience or someone new.

First time out in years. Had a nice pleasant ride. Ended up not even airing down or disconnecting. Those two puddles are still up there but enough dry ground to squeeze around them. I did accidentally enter from old Idyllwild road / coyote trail via smith creek and it was a little rough for me (but keep in mind I was looking for a nice even ride). I’ll try to enter from Longhorn next time.

Road is in good shape. A few puddles but nothing too serious. This was my first time on this trail. Will definitely be back.

Very easy trail. I think a 2wd sedan could drive through except for the deep puddles of water in some few spots. Other than that’s is a scenic trail with nice views. Nice bypass up to Idyllwild.

Few areas with where the rain left some ruts in the trail but easy going.
